The annual Worcester Shakespeare Festival consists of professional actors from New York, Boston and Worcester as well as gifted actors from theatre training programs of Worcester universities. The festival is committed to making the works of Shakespeare accessible to the people of Central Massachusetts by presenting the plays in a dynamic manner.
description = The Worcester Shakespeare Company stages two performances over 6 weeks each summer, and engages in other productions/workshops in the off-season. Summer shows are held in Whitinsville, MA, about 15 minutes south of Worcester.

WSC's summer shows utilize two performance venues at Alternatives, Inc in Whitinsville, MA. Outdoor performances are held on The New Napkin Stage, a wooden stage based on the The Globe's new Jacobean Stage. The stage has been constructed using historically-accurate techniques, and is assembled by company members each year. The indoor Singh Theatre at Alternatives is the company's second venue, a sharply contrasting space for more intimate performances.
