Gateway Park
Gateway Park is a joint venture of Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) and the Worcester Business Development Corporation that involves the redevelopment of a former 12-acre brownfield site. Once completed, the mixed-use development will contain close to one million square feet of bio-medical and bio-engineering space, retail establishments, housing and restaurants. Gateway Park is part of the larger Downtown Worcester Growth District.
The construction of WPI’s new, state of the art 124,000 square foot Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center, which houses modern laboratories and support facilities, as well as a 683 space parking facility has been completed. Three additional development parcels are pad ready and can support buildings of 80,000 square feet, 100,000 square feet, and 160,000 square feet. An additional 1.7 acre parcel is also vailable for housing development as part of the master plan for the area.
