Fall fungi, aka mushrooms, are among the most diverse organisms we know of. Color, shape, texture, stature and size all combine to attract our attention. Fungi are also important components of healthy ecosystems, especially forests. We will seek out, among others: brittle-gills, milk mushrooms, waxy-caps, puffballs, and the honey mushroom - arguably the largest organism on earth. Well add our discoveries to the Broad Meadow Brook fungi inventory. Sessions will feature different fungi - attend either or both programs. This is a program about learning to recognize and identify all fungi, NOT an edibility program. For more information, call 508-753-6087.
